Major Chords vs. Minor Chords

Major chords are generally bright and happy; minor chords are often somber and depressing.  An interesting example of the difference is The Doors' Riders on the Storm  redone with major chords.  Note: the video is marginally not safe for work at the end.

  1. Thank you! I prefer their version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" to the Doors' song, but it's still interesting.

    I occasionally DJ a vintage dance event, and "Nothing Else Matters" makes a fine waltz tune; I wonder if the dancers would figure out what was different about this one.
