Research Assistance Needed

I am researching one handgun a month laws passed (and then repealed) in several states.  Because they are no longer in effect, it is hard to find the text of the original laws.  South Carolina passed one in the 1970s probably 1975, repealed in 2004.  Virginia passed one in 1993, repealed in 2012.  If you can find the code section numbers and the repealing bill numbers, it would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I'm not SURE I have what you need, but it might be a step in the right direction.

From "Can Gun Control Work? (Studies in Crime and Public Policies)" (James B. Jacobs) Oxford University Press 2002.

Ref: Pg. 191 "Virginia has had a one-handgun-a-month law since 1993" references Citation #68 .... which is:

"Virginia Acts of Assembly 1993, Ch. 486; Virginia Code Ann. SS 18.2-308.2:2, Maryland has also implemented a one handgun-a-month law (Md. Ann. Code, Art. 27 at SS 442A)

Also references research by graduate student Mark B. Coggeshall; "Keeping Guns Out of the Wrong Hands The Effects of Gun Control on Homicide in Virginia," (master's thesis, University of Maryland, 2001)

It's admittedly thin, but it might point you in a new direction.
